The Project...Welcome to my literary love affair. My name is Danell Lynn. I have spent the last 5 years doing humanitarian projects throughout third world countries and traveling the world. Delivering quilts (ThreadingHope) and providing art kits and lessons (Highwire) to orphans and hospitalized children.
I have always been a writer so on these trips I collected / wrote in my journals -collections of hope and the travel adventures that followed. From adrenaline rushes to fears, calmness and heartbreaking hugs, to experiences that make us feel gifted to be human. I want to take all these amazing notes from torture of victims in camps of Western Sahara to earthquake victims in Haiti, and heart warming clinics for disabled children in Malawi, and more. All these adventures have books of notes that I would like to turn into real world entries to share with all of you. Every time I return home and tell my stories, friends tell me I should write a book... well here it comes, and thank you for the push. Fall asleep with me in a hammock under a full moon in Northern Malawi. Sip coffee on a rooftop surround by mountains and watch the sun rise in Antigua, Guatemala. Travel into the pediatric wards in Haiti and grow through the bravery of a young man crushed as a building collapsed...hear his story. Philanthropic Wanderlust is a book that fulfills a travelers desire to learn and gives the "why" to helping. There are everyday challenges that beget us for being human. Today lends the opportunity to be a part of the global community like no other time in history...join me on this journey. |
